Description
Ponytail Palm is not a true palm, it actually is related to Yuccas. The more common species recurvata, is grown both as an indoor and outdoor plant. This species' leaves are longer and less curly, they also are soft to the edges. While both Ponytail palms are often seen as small plants, it takes many years to reach a true vision of their mature self. It only gains its large caudex with age. Indoors the plant is extremely tough, dealing well with low humidity and dry conditions. It is best to water thoroughly and then allowed to dry quite a bit before watering again. Of course, drainage has to be excellent. These will prefer to grow in bright light, even some sun, however, they can make do with less. Best given as much light as possible.
