Description
Caladium or Xanthoma lindenii is an elephant ear cousin, with large arrow shaped leaves of dark green with white veining. It is a nice addition to the plant collection, it doesn't demand a lot of space or care. The plant is most happy with medium light and can adapt to more or less. It does need adequate moisture consistently, although it is best to have good drainage and allow dry slightly between watering. It does prefer warmer temperatures 68-75 and will pout if it is a bit too cool for a long time. It is best if you have drafty windows or alcoves to move the plant more toward the interior during cold spells. Most homes are usually fine. Repot when the root mass gets crowded, it prefers some room to around the roots. Fertilize with even solution during the warm growing season.
